I am going back to Vietnam for my fourth Trip this Jan 13th to 31st, 2010 and this is my first blog about my trip. My wife Thoa and daughter Daniella will have already flown over 8 days earlier so my best friend Mark Bellune and I will meet them in Vung Tau on the 15th.

Jan 13th, 2010 - We fly from Greenville S.C. on a little commuter jet to Houston, TX. After a 3hr layover we board a big Boeing 777 and fly 16 hours to Tokyo.

Once we get to Tokyo we will have a nice chance to sample the tasty food in this modern airport plus get to tour the many duty free shops around the airport.

Jan 14th, 2010 - After a few hours we will board another large plane to make the third leg of our journey to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam formally Saigon. We will need to declare our belongings and make our way through immigration and customs. By this time it will be 12am midnight. Once we have all our baggage we will get a taxi to take us to our Hotel in the backpacker section of Saigon.

Jan 15th, 2010 - The next day after some much needed rest, Mark and I will take the fast boat - actually an old decrepit Russian Hydrofoil to Vung Tau to visit my wife's parents and her relatives. There we will sample the local food and culture of the beautiful city of Vung Tau which is surrounded by water on three sides. There are four distinct beaches in Vietnam and plan to document the highlights of each.

Hydrofoils take you back and forth from Saigon to Vung Tau for $10USD

We will visit many important cultural sites throughout Vung Tau and what life is like for native folks and foreigners. With a High-Def video cam we will try to capture many highlights of our trip so we can add them to our blog as well as make a final production movie.
